Carly James Experienced Lawyer

ABOUT THE FOUNDER

Experience

Advocate Carly James, former Partner of a local firm, has specialised in family law for over 15 years. Her practice covers all aspects of family law. Her proven track record in divorce cases, at all levels of complexity and value, ensures that she can be relied upon to secure successful outcomes. She is sensitive to the desire to keep relations as amicable as possible (where appropriate) and is a strong and successful negotiator who strives to settle cases in her clients’ best interests out of court. She is an experienced lawyer in difficult children matters and always places children’s best interests at the centre of those proceedings.

Style

Family law tackles issues closest to people’s hearts and facing those matters can be highly emotive and distressing. Instructing a lawyer and sharing intimate details can be overwhelming.

Carly is acutely aware of the importance of the client/lawyer relationship and has a reputation amongst her former clients of being highly personable, able to develop a strong rapport quickly and willing to go the extra mile to ensure clients feel fully supported and heard.

Achievements and accolades

Carly has an LLB Law degree and completed her Legal Practice Course before returning to the Island and qualifying as an Advocate of the Royal Court in 2011. She is Chair of Relate (the relationship counselling charity) and a member of the Jersey Family Law Association and Resolution.

Carly was listed in the “Rising Stars” list in the Legal 500 2020’s guide to associates who make a material difference to the practice and was a “Recommended Lawyer” in the Legal 500 2020 editorial.
